How do you create an automatic download source for a homebrew file?

So, I've added a fair bit of homebrew content and a few fixes for feats, races, items, etc. to a homebrew file that I share with my players who also have Hero Lab. It's great but I'd love it if I could set it up somehow so that it works much like the Community Pack where players can check for updates and download them in the application rather than manually downloading my homebrew file and overwriting the original in the 5e folder.

But I can't seem to figure out how to do that. Something with XML? The Community Pack link isn't to a .user file and I'm not very familiar with how these types of things would work. I also couldn't find a tutorial on this so if there is one, by all means please point me to it.
