The "About Me" listing

You can turn off signatures by going to the Control Panel ("User CP" in the top menu bar), then clicking "edit options" under "settings and options", and then under "thread display options" un-check the option for "Show Signatures".

If you have signatures off and you want to see someone's signature lines, simply click on his or her name in a post and select "view public profile" from the drop down. The signature will be show, along with other information.

I suppose one could put the same information in their biography field, but I like to see this in the posts. I prefer that folk use small fonts and not have signatures that take up more space than most posts, but if it every becomes an issue, I can always turn them off.

Ah, Good to know MNB..... thanks for the clarification.Like you, I find it handy "In Thread" just to help me frame out my response at times to what the other posters have available, but didn't want this to be an unwanted burden on Colen and LWD on the "thread bloat weight" so to speak.

There is an option, when posting, of not showing your signature. Uncheck the "Show your signature" box provided below the message window and henceforth, your signature will be absent from that post...

(You can recheck for future posts...)
