iPad (mini) Hero Lab constant crashes

Hi All,
I'm getting so very frustrated right now and have no idea what to do. I have an iPad mini and have Hero Lab installed. I even have a license for it so it is the full version. I've recently updated to the latest 10.1, and the only addons I have are Shadowc's adjustments and the community super pack.

When I run Hero Lab, it will load. But then if I let it sit for random lengths of time, it will sometimes crash. Also, whenever I try to load my portfolio (either from dropbox or saved on the iPad, it crashes after about 15 seconds of load time. It doesn't seem to matter what I try, it's always crashing.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it still crashes.

Ever since I first installed HL on the iPad, it would randomly crash, but not very often. Now, it's crashing all the time.

Is there any way to debug this? Any other ideas to try?

Thanks

If you haven't already, please contact support@wolflair.com and make sure that you submit any crash reports. It will be much easier to troubleshoot via our support system than on the forums. Thanks!

I was experiencing the exact symptoms you describe, on a mini. Unfortunately the only fix I found was to close all other apps and do a complete shutdown/restart of the device. It appears to be rock solid now, with no crashes while cycling through multiple characters with all their tabs. My guess is that it really needs all that memory space.

Just for followup, I've been communicating with support. It's been determined that the iPad Community Beastiary is what is causing my problems. Whenever it is installed, HL will randomly crash and crash every time I try to load any portfolio.

In addition, the iPad Super Pak, which includes the Beastiary, also causes issues (mostly errors) when installed.

The issue as listed above is Memory and not directly related to the CB or Community packages. If you force close all other apps you should be able to run the CB. If you don't know how to force close apps on the iPad a google search will cover it.

Most likely if you do as the post above mentions shutting down all other apps you will have the memory that is required.

I have the Super Pack running on an iPad2 which has even less memory than a more modern mini.

The Super Pack will toss errors if you have licensed your iPad and do not have all the required packages to run it. Which I have a HUGE post all about this in details.

Yep, found it earlier and it works.

Well, sort of. It stopped crashing randomly once I closed the dozen open apps. Now when the CB is installed and I open my portfolio, I get about 40 duplicate item errors. I can work on that, I'm just glad it isnt crashing :)
