Note: If you are using the encounter builder beta, check your email for a link to the 8.12 update, and use that, rather than 8.11.

A new update of the Pathfinder files for Hero Lab is available from the automatic updates mechanism within Hero Lab.

For those of you with Rite Publishing's Secrets of Adventuring package, we've added more content to that package - Chapter 7 as a free update to that package.

If you don't have Secrets of Adventuring yet, do you feel like your Pathfinder game needs a refresh? Feel like you just need a new take on classes or the usual approach to your games? From the publisher that brought you 1001 Spells, Rite Publishing is now bringing “The Secrets of Adventuring” to your game! This book brings provides new choices for the usual Pathfinder character options, and also takes a new approach to classes. If your players aren’t interested in the hack and slash approach, provide them with the option of Tactical Archetypes! Rite Publishing has partnered with Hero Lab to release Chapters 1-6 this month, and more chapters will be released over the following months as free updates to anyone that has purchased the package. Refresh your game today with “The Secrets of Adventuring” for only $14.99!

This update also includes several bug fixes - namely a fix to the custom magic weapon/armor sale price issue and some problems with Eldritch Heritage.

Try rebooting your PC. that sometimes fixes things... and it is a simple thing to try while waiting for another solution if you have not tried it yet :)

Ha, yeah I tried that to no avail. In the end I just went and made coffee and read for a while. 45 minutes later it was almost complete

Is there a sticky that shows each of the previous updates? I've got some reports that I don't think have been addressed, and I just wanted to look and see if they were on the bug fix list of previous updates or not. No sense in bothering you to fix something that you know you haven't gotten to yet.

Ok, thanks.

Is it safe to assume that if it's not on that list, it hasn't been addressed, regardless of the status of the bug report? I checked my bug reports, and some of the open reports are on the list, and closed reports aren't.

The link to the bug reporting system is currently in a thread named "Please report Pathfinder bugs using the link in this thread". It's a stickied thread, 8 items down from this release announcement thread in the forum (at the time I write this).

For those who have not found this thread, where could we move it, so that it's easier to find? Where would you expect to find it, if not among the stickied threads? Or is is that we've built up too many stickied threads?

Have you considered building a webpage to handle this? A single page with links to the various bug reporting mechanisms instead of having multiple stickied threads? Then you could just have one sticky thread that sends people to the bug reporting page (which could be added to the Hero Lab section of wolflair.com as well). It might clear up the confusion having one page with various reporting areas to cover the main Pathfinder bugs and 3rd party bug reports.

Too many stickies I suggest moving the bug tracker into its own topic forum.

Similar to the game system and realm works forum.

Create a new Main topic forum with the header "BUG REPORTING ONLY"

Then have the game systems as sub headers with the bug tracker link on the first sticky and locked thread!

Like this

Pathfinder bug reporting tool

Maybe colour coding the individual game systems would help too.

I mentioned this one awhile as some of this information is even duplicate stickies. Both the FGG and Rite Publishing bug reporting stickies are already part of the FAQ thread. I plan to add KQ today to that list.

So if nothing else have a single sticky that has all the 3PP bug reporting ways. Is the "Hero Lab Support Plans for Pathfinder RPG" thread useful at all anymore? Isn't "Friendly Forums" and "Forum rules! Please read before posting" the same thing? Couldn't they be merged into a single post?

Instead of a single thread for "Requested Capabilities" why not have a whole sub-forum maybe? For just things people want to see and then it can have current work a rounds for people to know about until an official request is done.

Their is a post at the very top of main forum that takes you to the LW main webpage. Why not have the same thing for the Bug Reporting. have it maybe be a sub forum of this one? I don't know if it can do that but it would look different than just another sticky post.

The main issue is so many stickies that they blend together into a glob of words! :)

Two suggestions regarding making the bug report thread easier to use:

1: If the thread can be moved to be immediately AFTER the announcement thread, that might help with visibility.

2: including a link to it in the announcement post (and locking the thread) might be good.

I can speak to this one! I'm planning to update the forum rules to mention forum etiquette. However, that's kind of taking a back seat to other priorities (IE - ushering Realm Works out the door, and preparing the digital streamers and noisemakers).

As for all of your other ideas (and the other ideas mentioned in this thread), I'll take a look at cleaning up the forum stickies along with revamping the forum rules. I'm not sure when it will happen, but it's officially added to my "to-do" list. Thanks for the feedback!
