Is it possible to have a single portfolio open on multiple machines at once and have live updates occur between them?

Here's the situation. I have a single portfolio that has all my PC's and their mounts and NPC followers. Some of my players have purchased HL and the corresponding datasets so that they can also have their character on their own laptop during game. But, when they make changes I have to make the same changes on my copy. That's a lot of double work. If we could have the saved portfolio file on a shared drive and we could all open it and changes occur live between all our computers, that would save a lot of time and work.

Even if it is not currently able to do this, what would it take for the programmers to make that an option?

Lonewolf147,

Short answer: impossible.

Best thing you can do is have the file on a shared drive, and when you make changes, tell the others and they can download the update.

This is more of something for Realmworks. Their was some talk at some point for RW to do stuff like this. So it is something that LW knows people want.

While running the game I make extensive use of the tactical console which simplifies my games drastically. My players aren't allowed to make official changes to their sheets on their own copy of HL. I only let them build characters on it. I keep my copy updated and send them their modified portfolios later on via the export portfolio option. I had some problems with players being distracted during the game and banned electronics from the table entirely for players to keep them focused on my game and not "Minecraft" or other games.

What is this Tactical Console you speak of?

EDIT: OMG, I'm such a dolt. I never new of that panel before. It's awesome! Thanks!
