DND Next Files?

Hopefully this is in the right place...

I was wondering if Lonewolf would be making files for the new edition of Dungeons and Dragons (Dnd Next or 5th ed whatever they call it). If so has it been started and is there an estimate release time. I know they are still play testing but was hoping it was already in the works to support it.

If not any players taking this on?

thx

Here's another thread regarding this:

Personally I think its far too early in the playtesting process to even worry about support. They've changed things with each iteration of the playtest packet, nothing is truly set in stone. What they release as final product may not look anything like what is in the most current playtest packet. I'd wait to hear anything on this until after GenCon.

Ok thanks for the Info

No problem, I just felt like telling everyone my thoughts on it, as someone that's coded Deathwatch now, I can say I'd like final product before even starting to code anything. It can take many labor hours to code a system, debug and check the data for quality. Mike Mearls and his team could change anything during the playtest, as stated in the pages of End User Agreement you sign when becoming a play tester. Until they've officially said this is finalized, anything is changeable and I'd be more than a little miffed if I put eighty hours of work into building a tab in hero lab and told something changed, scrap what you just coded we won't be needing it. GenCon is the the E3 of tabletop gaming, and if anything is to be hammered out, I think the wolf pack would most likely have the chance for that at th convention.

Hi!´

Actually I started a bit on this (despite my group probably not moving to "Next" - myselves also I like 4e a lot!)

Current Status:

- Races and Classes are listed correctly
- Hitpoints and Hit dice are listed correctly
- Initiative Calculation now the way it is in D&D Next (d20+Dex-Mod, without lvl/2 added)
- Speed shows the correct values (and in feet)
- Abilities (especially during character creation) is handled correctly
- Fortitude/Reflex/Will have been replaced by Saving Throws (was a major headache to do!)
- Some changes in the layout due to this
- Some Racials implemented (basically the stat ones - and the Hill dwarves hitpoint thingy, as I did that while working on the hitpoint code)
- There is still a lot of 4e specific stuff shown, though, for example the display still shows "Healing Surge Value" and other stuff not belonging into
D&D Next

Not sure how complete I will do this ^^ Also there is the question if at one point there will be "official" support (of course Wolf Lair would be free to get my code for D&D Next Support ^^).
