how to find what user file a thing is in?

i found an entry for mage's faithful hound when adding spells to a spell book for 4th and 5th level. though i'm not sure what user file this is in to remove it since the spell is supposed to be 5th level not 4th, there is no source noted on the 4th level spell...

any ideas?

It is from the Core Rule Book and there are two versions. A 5th level which is flagged for Sorcerer and Wizard and a 4th level that should only be flagged for Summoner's, but is flagged also for Sorcerer and Wizard.

The incorrect thingid is spMageFai4.

There is an error reporting link at the top of the Herolab forums for reporting.

ok thanks, i wasn't sure if it was from one of the user files somewhere which is why i wanted to verify what data file it came from

User files are just text. So if you have any tool that can search text files you can use that to search .user files. I use "textpad" but their are many others out their that can do this.

One I found before that is free is "FileSeek" that lets you search flat files for specific text.
