While we are anxiously waiting for the calendar to be released, how are you keeping track of your calendar within Realm Works?

Well, I created a series of topics with a table referring to eras/periods (from general to particular, so you'll have 'Holocene' with a table defining its eras, then you'll have 'Era A' and 'Era b' with tables with their centuries/millennia, then the centuries/millennia become topics, and so on)

Then I'll have a time period text snippet where I identify the periods a given topic refers to. For example, a city/country/etc is in existence from date x to date y; a story/plot/event is set in date x, and so on.

I use masterworks for the calendar ( it allows for custom calendars)
It's ability to create a custom calendar is imperative to my campaign.
(I have 10 different calendars running simultaneously)
Unfortunately MW has it's limitations as well,
1- does not integrate with other programs well.
2- it lacks the ability to integrate multiple calendars ( which is what lured me to RW)
3- each calendar created is stand alone

With the promise of RW custom calendars, multiple calendar integration, and the ability to tie it to the player version & hero lab, I look forward the day of having one less program to juggle in a game session.

Can you provide a link to masterworks? I've done a search, but I'm not sure if I've found it.

I think Dark Lord Galen meant Masterplan.

Thanks Parody (Michael) He is quite right..... was trying to respond on my phone before boarding a plane.....
Big thumbed Grunard armed with iphone is a dangerous thing

Note, you also have to be creative when creating a calendar. MP has a hard time discerning "logic" at times...
For example I utilize the World of Greyhawk Campaign setting..... Within it there are 364 days - 12 months of 28 days and 4 - 1 week (7 days) long festivals.
So I had to manipulate it to actually run 16 "months" with 4 only being 7 days long for it to work. 7, 28, 28, 28, 7, 28, 28, 28, 7,28, 28, 28, 7, 28, 28, 28
Beats nothing, short of pen and paper (have that for sanity checks between calendar types)

Another "calendar" management type of program is DM's Secretary...
It also allows you to customize the calendar... it is written in VB6 I believe... so not compatible with anything else.. but not bad for a stand alone.
