I would like to put the history of the fantasy world in RW.
The data I need to put is : Which continent (to be able to filter by continent), the region(s) (filter), the country(ies) (for filter again), the date and the description of the history fact (with all links to people, places, other events, ..). With all this, I would like to set the right filter and see the chronological events for one country or region. What should I use to do this? because sometimes, an event impact many countries, many regions (and even many continents, but it is rare). |

you want tags for this.
Create tag sets for the continents, regions and countries that exist in your world. Then add tag snippets for those tags to each topic (you can make this the default for the incident category and time period category by editing the category definition). You should obviously make these tag snippets allow multiple tags to be selected. For the description incident and time period already have description sections. Simply write your description of the historical event in their and the linking will occur as usual. When it comes time to filter simply filter on the correct tag and you should get a list of the incidents and time periods relevant to that particular place. my Realm Works videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZU...4DwXXkvmBXQ9Yw |

Be careful using date snippets, there is an outstanding bug that will cause all to be revealed when the containing topic is revealed.

Event lists and events should do the trick? Or do you have other topics that I should/could use for this?
BTW, thanks for your answers |

At least in my version of RW there is no event topic. The topics I'd use are incidents, time periods and event lists.

Your version doesn't have it as an option, or you're not using that option?

There is no such thing as an event topic at least in my main realm.

That's odd, you should check that out further? Maybe set to inactive?
Iam also using events / incidents if its about history. Join the (unofficial) Realm-Works IRC Chat: #realm-works on the Rizon Network (https://wiki.rizon.net/index.php?title=Servers) -> Browser Client: https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.rizon.net |
