new custom abilities for magic weapons

Hello all.

I have a question that might be really simple, or might be really complicated. If it's really complicated, I'd like to figure it out as a lesson in HL editing. If it's really simple, I'd appreciate the simple directions.

The problem is that I have a character with a special bow, which is a Bow of Speed, but it only works for 6 rounds per day (not necessarily consecutive). Obviously there is no default ability like this to add in the Custom Magic Weapon menus, so I'm going to have to write a new magic weapon. Is there a simple way to modify an existing one, or do I have to do a bunch of bootstrapping (still not sure what that means) and tags and stuff?

That shouldn't be too hard. You can copy the Oathbow for a start, and then change the Total Charges to 6, the Usage Period to "rounds/day", and set the description/price/enhancement bonus to whatever you like.
