The currently selections of allies for various armies are incorrect. There should be an option to select allies from any of the army books for a given army with the different settings of Trusted, Suspicious and Desperate Allies, as well as Skaven and Dark Elf Fragile Alliances. Currently, for Dark Elf armies, for example, the only allies options are Ogre Kingdoms and Dogs of War.

The (somewhat unfortunately named) "Select Allies..." option only allows you to chose which (typically Rare) mercenary units you want to hire for your army. It has nothing to do with the Alliance rules in the 8e BRB.
Speaking of which, have you properly read the Alliance rules in the 8th edition rulebook? Because you seem to be under the impression that they allow you to take units from multiple army books in one army list, which is not true. The Alliance rules on pp.136-139 govern multi-player battles where each side consists of several forces independently selected from their own army book, each one of which must be valid in its own right. |

Yes. I am well aware of the rules on allies and the fact that one would ordinarily not be allowed to borrow units from other army books. In fact, even Dogs of War units are often no longer allowed for armies. However, when building an Empires Campaign army with the allies event, one would like to add the allies of choice to the army list rather than create a separate allies army list (2500 points of regular troops and 250 points of allies but they must jointly meet the army construction rules for 8th edition). Also, some allies or team battles have joint rules such that one would prefer to build the joint list in one roster, rather than two.
