Whenever I save a unit and attempt to load it later I receive the following error:
"The file could not be recognized as a saved unit, item or squad. Please check the file and try again."

To rule out the data file I was using (ab40k), I loaded up the example game system, created a unit, saved it as a unit (testunit.abs) and then tried to load it via Unit -> Load Item/Unit/Squad. Same error.

Anyone else run into this?

Hi there,

I just tried this with a unit of Chaos Terminators, and the unit saved and loaded without any problems. Which specific unit are you running into issues with?

Thanks for looking into it.

After further troubleshooting, this the issue seems to stem from the file being in a directory path with a directory name containing a period " . "

It does not seem to matter if the directory is local or network shared. AB fails to load the unit file in either case if any directory in the path contains a period.

These fail:
C:\1.11\testunit.abu
\\Server\Rosters\1.11\testunit.abu

These work:
C:\1_11\testunit.abu
\\Server\Rosters\1_11\testunit.abu
