Can’t import into HL on iPad
 
I’m no longer able to import a portfolio into HL from Dropbox on the iPad. When I tap the import button none of my cloud services appear listed, only the Browse option. If I select it and navigate to a portfolio and try to select it, HL just hangs attempting to download the portfolio but never succeeding. Any suggestions?

Also, any chance that we will get Dropbox syncing or something similar back? I really miss that feature and find HL on the iPad much less useful without it.

Try using dropbox's export feature. I use that and open with HL.

You don’t say what version of iOS you’re running, but this sounds like a network issue. Be sure that you’re online and that HL is allowed to access network services properly (for example, if you’re on cellular, the HL needs cellular network access — look In Settings and scroll down to the settings for Hero Lab).

I would say there’s about zero chance. LW is working on HL Online and I doubt that any kind of update in this regard will happen. :(

On the flip side, importing into HL and/or exporting from another service (and using the, “Open In...” option to open in HL) are both fairly easy to use, even if they’re not nearly as nice as Dropbox syncing...

I had the same issue. Moved my portfolios to iCloud and have not had a problem yet.

Sometimes after the dropbox app on the iPad gets updated it won't communication to other apps. To fix the issue simply start and log into the dropbox app at least once.

Once you do this it should get displayed as a valid Cloud service in the HL app.

Hopefully that helps future readers as it has worked for me several times now. :)
