Just bought HL (love ti too) and am trying to understand a valadation error I am receiving.

Info; I own the core rule book and the advanced player guide so far.

I have made a 1/2 Elf Ranger.
I gave him the Alternate Racial Trait: Ancestral Arms
It should have replaced the Adaptability Trate
The Adaptability did go gray, but in the feat tab it still shows and is red waiting for a skill to be selected.

How do I get it to not show up as a feat?

What am I doing wrong?
 
It looks like the Skill Focus feat isn't being properly removed when the Adaptability racial ability is replaced. You're not doing anything wrong, but that is a bug, so please post it in the Bug thread and we'll try to get it fixed for the next release. In the meantime, just pick the skill for Skill Focus, then add a negative Skill bonus adjustment on the Adjust tab, to counteract the +3 from the feat.
