Does this feat (if chosen) change the melee option automatically, or do I have to do it "somewhere"?

Yes, it changes the attack bonus automatically.

Thank you! I hoped it would, so I think I have to check it again, because it doesn't seem to work with me.

What weapon are you using it with? Weapon Finesse applies to "light weapon, rapier, whip, or spiked chain."

Yep, you're right and I just found outmy mistake! Everything works. I thought I had chosen the rapier, but got the ranseur - my bad.
