weapon/armor ordering

I'm sure this has been addressed before, but i couldn't find any posts. Is there any way to change the order of weapons in a printed output? Currently it seems that it is in semi alphabetical order.
crossbow,
gauntlet,
longsword,
unarmed,
chainmail,
gear
shield
charges.

i would like something more like:
longsword
crossbow
charges
unarmed,
gauntlet
--
chainmail
shield
--
gear

is there any way to adjust the printed output?

thanks in advance for the assistance.

The way I've done it in the past when the order mattered is to buy the item as a Custom Weapon without any "extras" and in the Custom Weapon Name field I would put 1) for the first weapon (greataxe), 2) for the second weapon (dart), and 3) for the third weapon (crossbow, light) and the program, after you leave the weapons tab & return, will sort them numerically.

Just using 1) means the printed sheet will say "1) Greataxe" but you will have only "1)" on under the weapons tab when looking only at the computer.

If you put 1) Greataxe in the Custom name window, and this is true of all weapons not just the ones I'm using in the example, then it'll show up fine onscreen in the weapons tab BUT the printed sheet will say "1) Greataxe, Greataxe."

Mathias and Aaron, you might want to change things so that a custom weapon name will show up onscreen AND will override the normal name when it comes to the printed sheet. This reminds me,....on the printed sheet weapons still doesn't show all the "extras/powers" they might have been given. At best it might list two or possibly three features depending on the length of the weapon name. Perhaps you can open the parameters of that display field to expand as required & thus show the player all of the weapon's features. :)

Nigel's way is the best suggestion for now - improving the sorting for weapons is one of the things on our to-do list for d20 and Pathfinder.

Nigel, the reason why it does that is one of space - space is more limited on the weapons tab, so we omit the name, especially as you can just use the mouseinfo to see what the weapon is. On the printout there's no other way to see it, so we included the weapon name in the title.

Hey Colen,

I hear what you're saying. I was just wondering why it is that when a player names a Custom Weapon (or armor), the software doesn't look to the name created by the player instead of to the default weapon (or armor) name "indicator."

I acknowledge that this leaves it up to the player to remember whether the "Bringer of Painful Doom" is a longsword, glaive, mace or sling bullet but that's already true of other aspects of the printout, so why not weapons & armor as well? :D
