Warhammer: The Old World

Army builder was always the best tool for building a list. I would be willing to help get this setup as well.

Beastmen, Daemons, Bretonnian, and High elves is my list of current armies.

Hey.
I have started working on files for TOW in AB3+.

Altough I'm new in that, I think I have mostly generic files + WoCh done.

My biggest problem for now is:
how to prevent adding 1 save from being mounted.

For reference - I'm modifying WFB 8th edition files.

I have NO IDEA how to help. But I would LOVE to have The Old World for Army Builder. Is anyone working on this?

I've started on AB3. It's been a long time since I did datafile authoring (I ran BFG and Epic back when we cut over from AB2 to AB3) so it will take a while to remember how it all works.

Hello, I am working on an army builder version for TOW. I have achieved to get some stuff working but I have long way yet.

Anyway, I now stuck in a detail I would like to ask for your help. I have created a list of magic armours the characters would be able to apply for (all gathered in an "option" and attached to each character by a "Linkset"). But of course, some of the character will not be able to select a magic armour, so for that my aim is to put inside this "Magic Armour List " option, in LIVE section, the name of the units I want to exclude from applying to magi armour. Here is where I get stuck. I would like to use the name of the unit directly to exclude:

!unitid.Assasin

But this doesn’t work, it says: "Tag 'unitid.Assasin ' not defined"

Anyone know how I cand correctly write this expression? (I have been able to get it working created a new taggroup and giving this tag to the unit, but i would like to simplify the process saving having to create a new support group and having to assign support to each unit)

Hey not sure if this is correct place but a few errors in the Dec 24 update for Old World
Price of Icon of Morr and Twice Blessed armour is 25pts not 40
White wolf knight can have shields and wolf hammers but option isn't there

Hi Aenur.

It depends on how you've set the data up - I'm assuming you have a set of options in a given army file and you're applying the exclusion as an attribute to the item. For each unit you create in the header for the unit you have to create a unique ID for it, and it's matching that exclusion tag against the unit.

I strongly recommend adding some army detail into each unit ID - so Empire State Troops would be EmStTrp, then when you need to create a veteran unit, copy it all and change to EmpVStTrp. If there is later a new alternate composition list with restrictions you have EmpNulnStTrp etc. It makes it easy to correct stuff for alternate list types.

Would be great if AB had the ability to treat these like a class with different constructors rather than creating the same unit over and over....

I started, then remembered after a few hours how bloody painful to work on this was, and felt daunted by the scope of the project, doing BFG for years, and bring epic40k over to ab3 was infuriating.. I just haven't had the free time and forgot about it :D

In the Chaos.dat, option chChaSteed has an evaluation that subtracts one from the armour value. This is something that will need to be changed for every set of mount options for each race.

I guess it's time to get organised. I've PM'd everyone who seems to be working on stuff, and we'll put a project team together.
