Version 6.12 of the Pathfinder files is now available

Version 6.12 of the Pathfinder files is now avalable from the automatic updates mechanism within Hero Lab.

This update adds the Dragon Empires Primer as a free update to the existing Player's Companion: Golarion #2 bundle, which already contains Faiths of Corruption, and will gain one more player's companion book later on (once another book in the Player's Companion line is released). This package is available for $4.99.

This update also fixes the intelligent item rules - the Pathfinder files no longer use the SRD rules for intelligent items and now use the Pathfinder rules for these. Fixing the intelligent item rules also allowed us to get the Black Blades for the Magus' Bladebound archetype functioning properly.

This update also adds player content from Pathfinder #52, along with some other bug fixes.

Here's the complete change list, copied from the FAQ:

New Releases!

  • Content from the Dragon Empires Primer is now available in the Player's Companion: Golarion #2 package.
Enhancements & Changes

  • Added player content from Pathfinder #52, Tide of Honor.
  • The Bladebound Magus archetype now works properly. At level 3, you gain a Black Blade on the weapons tab.
  • The Intelligent Magic Item creation system has been updated to Pathfinder rules. Note that because Pathfinder intelligent items work differently from the old d20 ones, these changes mean that old intelligent items will need to be rebuilt.
Bug Fixes

  • The fox, goat, and pig were not available as arcane familiars.
  • The Feral Combat Training feat needed a prerequisite of Weapon Focus in a natural weapon.
  • The Loremaster prestige class needed it's prerequisites to be modified for Pathfinder Organized Play.
  • The Weapon Finesse feat continued to function, even when removed by the "Customize?" button.
  • The Moon Subdomain was granting the Blind Fight feat, and was not allowing any domain spells.
  • The Geisha Archetype from Ultimate Magic was removing the Bard Weapon Proficiency feat, but was still allowing characters to use the weapons with no penalty.
  • The Sorcerer's Shadow Bloodline was receiving Darkvision at 1st level, instead of at 3rd level.

The Moon Subdomain was granting the Blind Fight feat, and was not allowing any domain spells.

hmm, I may be mistaken, but as far as I know, the Moon Subdomain belongs to the Darkness domain, which gives Blind-Fight as Bonus feat... The other Darkness subdomains (Loss, Night) also get this, so why should the Moon Subdomain not? Looking into the Gazetteer, I could not find a single hint that "Moon" should lose this part of its domain either...

Could it perhaps be that you rectified this in the wrong direction?

Don't subdomains get their own domain abilities rather than their own domain abilities plus the abilites of their parent domain?

They get a mix of the two. Subdomains are like Archetypes in that they replace one or two things from the parent domain. But if the Subdomain does not say otherwise you still get all the parent domain abilities.

So the Moon Subdomain replaces the eyes of darkness power, 8th level power, with Moonfire. Then it replaces a couple of the spells the domain get as a bonus.

So the two merged together would be the following:
MOON
Granted Power: You manipulate shadows and darkness. In addition, you receive Blind-Fight as a bonus feat.

Touch of Darkness (Sp): As a melee touch attack, you can cause a creature's vision to be fraught with shadows and darkness. The creature touched treats all other creatures as if they had concealment, suffering a 20% miss chance on all attack rolls. This effect lasts for a number of rounds equal to 1/2 your cleric level (minimum 1). You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Moonfire (Su): At 8th level, you can launch a blast of blazing moonlight from your eyes at a single target within 30 feet as a standard action. Moonfire deals 1d8 points of damage per two caster levels, and the target is dazzled for 1 round per caster level. This damage is the result of raw divine power, and cannot be blocked by energy resistance. A successful Reflex saving throw (DC 10 + 1/2 your cleric level + your Wisdom modifier) reduces the damage by half and negates the dazzle effect. You can use this ability once per day at 8th level, and one additional time per day for every four levels beyond 8th.

Domain Spells: 1st—faerie fire, 2nd—blindness/deafness (only to cause blindness), 3rd—deeper darkness, 4th—moonstruck, 5th—summon monster V (summons 1d3 shadows), 6th—dream, 7th—power word blind, 8th—greater shadow evocation, 9th—shades.

Hope that helps.
