v3.4 of the Pathfinder files is now available from the auto-update within HL.

We've got the May 2010 errata, custom wands and potions, 4 more editor tabs, 5 new adjustments, and many other improvements and fixes.

Here's the full list, taken from the FAQ:

Enhancements & Changes

  • Incorporated the changes from the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook Errata v2.0. (this can be downloaded from Paizo's Website).
  • Incorporated the changes from the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary Update v1.0. (this can be downloaded from Paizo's Website).
  • Added Custom Wands to the Magic tab. This option allows users to create wands of any spell, at any caster level, with any number of charges, and have the correct price calculated for the item.
  • Added Custom Potions to the Magic tab. This option allows users to create potions of any spell, at any caster level, and have the correct price calculated for the item.
  • Added a "Show Tracked Resources in Statblock" output option.
  • Added adjustments for the effects of various age categories.
  • Added an adjustment for Attribute Points, so that users can set point buy totals other than the standard values.
  • Added an adjustment for Challenge Rating.
  • New Minion and Hireling options for the "Other" tab can now be created in the editor.
  • The attribute point-buy costs, XP cost/level, and total feats/traits/flaws per level can now be changed in the editor.
  • The "Use Factions/Backgrounds" optional rule allows the use of user-created Factions or Backgrounds. A single background option may be selected for each character on the Background tab.
  • Added a house rule that makes all non-secret languages valid for all characters.
Bug Fixes

  • Wizards, Witches, and Alchemists were not able to select the Custom/Metamagic spell.
  • Alchemists now call their spells "Extracts" and their spellbook a "Formula Book". Witches call their spellbook "Familiar's Spells".
  • Fixed the text colors on the custom scroll form - after one or more spells were selected, they displayed unreadable text colors.
  • Fixed the weights of Horseshoes of a Zephyr and Horseshoes of Speed - when added to a size L creature like a horse, the normal weight of an item is double that of a size M object, and the weights that had been set did not take that into account.
  • Druids can no longer wear Studded Leather armor without a warning that it is not an allowed armor type.
  • The Melee and Ranged Touch Attack displays were including penalties if the hero was not size M.
  • Fixed the space/reach of many races.
  • When creating a custom scroll, there are no longer errors when the Custom/Metamagic spell is chosen.
  • Races that have more than 2 legs or a snaky body are now assumed to be non-humanoid for the purpose of armor pricing.
  • The sunblade weapon should be a light weapon, rather than a 1-handed weapon.
  • The Lich template was only adjusting CR by 1, rather than 2.
  • The Skeleton and Zombie templates were incorrectly calculating their CR.
  • Added summary text to many feats that did not have summary text and corrected the summary text of a few other feats.
  • The shield focus and greater shield focus feats now apply whether or not the shield is equiped, to make it easier to compare between shields.
  • Paladins and Rangers now properly subtract 3 from their Caster Level.
  • The weight of a stack of items was not properly being multiplied by the quantity.
  • Using the Size Change adjustment no longer causes the Unarmed Strike to become the wrong size for the character.
  • All characters are now proficienct in Unarmed attacks.
  • The Amulet of Mighty Fists now applies to natural attacks, as well as unarmed strikes.
Data File Authoring

  • Classes can now specify what they call their spells and spellbook.
  • The herofield[tPotMaxL].value now stores the maximum level of spells this character can put into a potion. The default value is 3, but it can be changed (before Final/100000) if something (a Prestige Class, for example), allows this character to create potions of higher level spells.
  • The herofield[tWandMaxL].value now stores the maximum level of spells this character can put into a wand. The default value is 4, but it can be changed (before Final/100000) if something (a Prestige Class, for example), allows this character to create wands of higher level spells.
  • The Minion/Hireling tab was added to the editor, to allow the creation of new minion, hireling, and animal choices for the "Other" tab. Instructions on how to use this tab can be found on the Editor Tabs page of the editor manual.
  • Added the Mechanics tab to the editor. All Mechanics are added to all characters, unless a source disallows the specific mechanic. Mechanics are used within Hero Lab to store the Attribute costs for point-buy character creation, the XP cost/level tables, and the feats, flaws, and traits per level tables, so the editor can now be used to create a replacement copy of those Mechanics, overriding the way those are handled. Because mechanics are present on all characters, they can also be used to create house rules that apply to all characters.
  • Added the Simple tab to the editor. Simple things have no pre-set behaviours, and are generally used as helper objects by other things (for example, if you add an Eval Rule to a Simple thing, you can have a Mechanic bootstrap that, and you now have a new restriction on all characters, and the pick name reported if it's invalid will be the name of the Simple thing, rather than the mechanic).
  • Added the Faction tab to the editor. This allows new factions and backgrounds to be created, so that there is something to select for the "Use Factions/Backgrounds" optional rule.
  • Added the option for classes to specify that they have a caster level of 1/2 their magic level. This was used in d20 for the Ranger and Paladin, but is not used for any PRD classes.
  • Added an option to allow spellcasting classes that do not gain spellcasting capability until a later level to use the d20 mechanism - full CL at that level, rather than the Pathfinder mechanism (CL = 1 at that level).

Nice!

The new Mechanics and Simple Things sounds awesome. I had been using Maneuvers in a similar way as they always got added to characters, but will be nice to use proper things instead. :)

Any word on custom organizing of weapons on print out? Gods tab for the editor? I'd love to enter in the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer gods.
You also mention languages - have I missed the place to add custom languages?

Under the background language area when making a character you can add the other language and when you choose it you just type in the language you want. Not sure if thats what you are looking for.

In the new 3.4 update there is a language tab. I added in the Grand Lodge Slang language as an option in the Seeker of Secrets .user file. It'll be up on ShadowChemosh's site after the weekend (hopefully). This is what I was hoping for. Now I'm hoping that it all works right!

In the update - did Faction points get removed? I thought I had to mark how many faction points were earned in each Journal Entry previously.
Also, when I started the character, I added items without costing anything - how can I just enter in what gold I have (not what the Journal has).

Nothing should have changed in this update about the way Pathfinder Society characters are managed. I still see the faction points on the Journal entries for a Pathfinder Society character. What are you seeing or not seeing that differs from what you remember?

On the configure hero form that you'll see when you start a new character (or you can bring it up from the Character menu), there's a space to enter starting cash.

Wow, that was weird. I entered 3 new journal entries last night and there was no place to add in faction points. I open it today and the box is there - but I had 28 faction points. Remove the last journal entry, and it put me back to the 14 PA's I should have. Something was weird. No idea how or why that didn't show up or why it showed twice as many.
