Just an FYI -- The 2.4 version of the WFB (.WF6 files) army file does NOT
seem to work. I've tried every trick I could think of, but when I the
program attempts to load these files it bombs. Is there some problem with
the version or should I look elsewhere?

Sorry everyone - especially all those that downloaded ver 2.4 of
Dave Gilbert's and my files. The screwup was mine - we are currently working on a draft file for the O&G based on information in WD250 and from the mailing list. I took it out of my directory because it really isn't ready to release but files in the core file have
already been changed to refer to that file so...in the new files I just uploaded, the draft O&G file is included - NOTE, again it is DRAFT and doesn't necessarily follow the Armybook fully since we don't have it yet.

I haven't got the Empire parsing error to show up on my computer but in the ones people have reported it seems that some junk had been added to the end of validation check (everything after emmsg3). If you get it (and have construction kit) go into the em file, select the empire race go into the lower box on the right of the screen - find the command doing the parsing error and remove the garbage from it. What browser are you using to download it? Version 2.0b should have fixed the Netscape problem with *.ab files. Think I will have to go back to .zip.

"bombs" as in crashes, or says "Error in datafiles"?

Please stick with the ".ab" extension. The problem is with Netscape and
downloading the files. There is a prominent explanation of how to deal with
this on the Data Files pages on the Wolf Lair site. It would be optimal if
this message could be placed somewhere on AB-Files that it would stand out
and be useful for people.

The main reason for staying away from ".zip" files is that even MORE people
open the zip files and then get confused, since they don't bother reading
the instructions about importing the files. At least, with the ".ab"
extension, the problem is more readily sorted out and only Netscape users
are effected, both of which help to reduce the incidence level. :-)

Thanks, Rob
