A new update of the Shadowrun 5 files for Hero Lab is now available from the automatic updates mechanism in Hero Lab. This is a bug fix update.

Bug Fixes


  • If Enable Data File Debugging was turned on, a set of incorrect error messages were reported for any mentor spirit powers on a character.
  • The Pain Editor bioware was only suppressing the injury modifiers from stun damage, but should allow you to ignore all injury modifiers.
  • The Missile Mastery adept power was not improving the dicepool and damage of normal throwing weapons.
  • Many of the spirits from Street Grimoire, if their checkbox on the summoner's Magic tab was un-checked, would not properly hide themselves.
  • For an adept with a Way Quality that discounted a power which was getting free ranks from the character's Mentor Spirit, but still had paid ranks beyond the free ranks, the discount for the Way quality was not being calculated correctly.
  • If you added an adept power through the New Adept Power advancement on the Advances tab, and then improved that adept power with a Qi focus, the power added by the Qi focus would not correctly recognize the existing copy and improve it, but would instead show up as a separate adept power.
  • On the Living Persona's display on the printout, the "Sleaze:" section was repeating the Data Processing value instead of displaying the Sleaze value.
  • In advancement mode, programs and licenses/fake SINs could have their rating changed, but the cost of the change was not being applied. The rating has now been locked down for those items in advancement mode.
  • The Vodou tradition was basing drain calculations on Intuition, not Charisma.
  • If an ability was calculating a dicepool that included a skill, and that skill was part of a skill group that had been improved on the advances tab, the dicepool would be calculated incorrectly.
  • If a gas mask was added as a modification of a ballistic mask, that would generate errors.
  • The Burnout's Way was not discounting bioware. Note that bioware added before this update may not automatically change its price, and you may need to go into the settings for that item and turn on the discount.
  • The Discount for The Burnout's Way was being calculated incorrectly (it was still using 4th edition's 10% discount, instead of the 5th edition rules, which is that standard counts as alphaware, but no other grades are modified).
  • The calculated dicepool for the Voice Control power should include the power's rating, along with the skill and attribute, and was not displaying the Mental limit, which applies to this test.
  • Bound spirits purchased during character creation must have a Force = to the character's Magic attribute, but this limit should not apply to NPCs.
