Greetings,
For those of you adding custom material, stop what you're doing and
grab the new V1.1g release. For everyone else, this is not the
release you're looking for.
The new V1.1g update includes a bunch of refinements and enhancements
for editing custom material. It also includes an important bug fix
for adding material. There are also a few nifty new items that will
be helpful when working with your characters, but nothing
earth-shattering. Another update slated for next Friday is targeting
some new capabilities for the product in general and the d20 files in
particular.
Below are some of the highlights for this release.
1. Hit point tracking on the "in play" tab has been improved. You can
now track, view and undo the damage and healing your hero has taken.
2. The basics tab, static panel and the summary panel now show your
current and total hit points, instead of just your total.
3. Re-designed the editor form. It's now bigger by default, provided
the system allows for it, although you can reduce the size if you like.
4. Added an MRU list to the editor. It's on the File menu, just like
the main Hero Lab window.
5. The editor now shows a "*** Modified ***" indicator in the title
bar if the current file has been modified and needs to be saved.
6. Added new droplists to many tabs in the editor, making it easier
to specify linkages or bootstraps for common stuff like linked skill
attributes, classes spell attributes, etc.
7. The editor now shows a short sentence about the currently selected
tab to the right of the "Splice Thing" button.
8. When switching between tabs in the editor, it now remembers the
selected item in the table and corresponding scroller position for
each separate tab.
9. Things with "only once" pre-requisites were not having proper
storage allocated when spliced from the editor, which would crash
when the thing was added to the hero.
10. Fields were not being properly initialized to their default
values for things that were spliced via the editor.
As always, the complete list of program changes will be found in the
readme.txt file installed with the update. The complete list of d20
data file changes will be found in the data file FAQ.
Have fun!
