Using Your stat die for the amount of something

What and how would I write a script to check and use a attribute die as the total amount allow to be pick for an type of gear. What I want to do is have a small amount of cyber gear and have the spirit attribute to limit the amount of cyber-gear your allowed to have on your body. Is there a way to do this or am I out of luck on this one. I thought I seen an example of this somewhere.

A way that comes to mind is by using Derived Traits. You could have a derived trait based on Spirit for "Cyberware Threshold". Then there is another trait "Cyberware" that goes up as you get points worth of cyberware.

For examples, I would look at Charisma and Charismatic on how to create the derived trait and how to add to it.
