.user data not showing up in configure

Okay so someone e-mailed me their .user file. I put this in the program data folder and I can open the file with the editor, however this file set does not show up as an option in the configure hero menu. I've tried opening the file in the HL editor and saving it, but still didn't help.

How do I get it to show up there?
 
The file itself wont show up in the configure hero file. when the file was created was a Source given to it? if so, then that source needs to be selected for the effect of the file to be automatically loaded into HL. if no Source was provided i belaive it will load the file in authomatically.

you wont see the specific .user file in the configure hero options, but you will see the Source if one was provided.
