Updated to the new version today and now when it goes to load hero lab I get this error message. Please help...:o

The following errors occurred:

Resource 'printdn' - Bitmap file could not be loaded: c:\program files (x86)\hero lab\product\builtin\print_down.bmp

So in this case your best bet is to try and install the .exe again. Download page HERE.

That seems to be the advice when when the "exe" part of Hero Lab has issues.

Okay I downloaded the .exe file again and still getting this message...

The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors.

The following errors occurred:

Resource 'printdn' - Bitmap file could not be loaded: c:\program files (x86)\hero lab\product\builtin\print_down.bmp

should I uninstall something first and try again? Not sure what to do.

Here's something we've found to be necessary in some cases when re-running the installer doesn't work:

1) In Windows Explorer, go to the "c:\Program Files (x86)\Hero Lab\product\builtin" folder. Delete everything in that folder.

2) Is there a "compatibility files" button in the window toolbar? If so, click it, and delete any files in there too.

3) Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the "c:\Program Files (x86)\Hero Lab" folder.

4) Download and reinstall Hero Lab from our web site:

After reinstall, your Hero Lab should work correctly.

Okay,
Step 1 done 1) In Windows Explorer, go to the "c:\Program Files (x86)\Hero Lab\product\builtin" folder. Delete everything in that folder.

Step 2 don't have as far as I can tell. using windows 8.1

Step 3 Done again for hero lab files.

Step 4 done,

Open and try to load pathfinder and still same message appears.

Any other suggestions? :)
