Tyranid Warriors (bug?)

New member
This is for version 3.0 with the new 4th edition Tyranid data file.

I add a unit of Tyranid warriors, it adds them to my list at the minimum number of three warriors.

Now, I want to arm them as follows:

1 with two sets of scything talons
1 with a deathspitter and scything talons
1 with a barbed strangler and scything talons

It won't allow me to do this. It allows me to add the warrior with the barbed strangler but it's forcing the rest of the unit to be armed itentically even though the codex specifies that they may select different weapons on a "per model" basis.

Clicking the "Warriors" option with the star under the "Add Units" tab multiple times will add additional Warriors to the unit which may be armed differently than the main unit. After adding addional Warriors in this manner, you can reduce the main unit size until the combined unit size is at the minimum.

But I also noticed that despite the fact that you can add a venom cannon (see codex) it is n't possiblie to add a venom cannon to a warrior in the new data file ?!

yes, you can. Go to the add units tab in Army Builder 3. Click on the "Add warrior w/heavy" or however it's worded. Change to that warrior that was added to the unit. You can then give it a venom cannon or barbed strangler.
