So I just bought a ton of content packs since our group is finally switching to Pathfinder.

And I'm running into problems trying to make characters that should work fine.

The weapon groups for weapon mastery appear to have not been updated to the lists in Ultimate Equipment.

Braggart (Order of the Cockatrice level 2) doesn't give Dazzling Display, which means that it can't be used to help qualify for Aldori Swordlord

I'm kinda regretting the money that I spent last night - I could have bought a lot of pens and notepads for the same cash.

I did, but I was thinking maybe I'm doing something wrong. These things weren't exactly obscure, I would have thought they'd been noticed and fixed long ago. But searching the the forum doesn't seem to lead to particular pages of the very long sticky threads so I have no idea if there's a thread anywhere where someone else has already been told why these things are working the way they are.
 
I've looked into this and I'm seeing Dazzling Display added at 2nd level for a vanilla Cavalier, and that is fulfilling the pre-req for aldori swordlord prestige class. Can you give me some more information on your character? Does he have the Herald Squire archetype, which replaces the 2nd level order power perhaps? Does he have any user files which might replace the standard Cavalier or otherwise affect things?

Please don't judge us too harshly if the bugs we miss happen to be ones that affect you, we do our best to fix issues even as we introduce more and more content in keeping with Paizo's releases. What seems "not obscure" to you is lost amid a sea of content for us.
 
Sword Saint Samurai w/ Order of the Cockatrice. It shows the Braggart ability under the Samurai tab, but doesn't list Dazzling Display on the feat tab & shows it red on the Aldori Swordlord PrC.

New question: Where's the scorpion whip? It's a nice option for a first level archaeologist who doesn't yet have the Whip feats to make a regular whip useful, and should be usable with just regular whip proficiency, but I can't find it in Hero Lab anywhere.

Yeah, looks like the condition to add the Dazzling display feat is looking for Cavalier levels rather than Samurai levels, that is a bug.

Scorpion Whip is sourced to Adventurers Armory, Ultimate Combat, Ultimate Equipment, and Legacy of Fire. Since Legacy of Fire is an Adventure path, and those are provided free to all users, you should at least have that one. Make sure that source is enabled for your character, on the Configure Hero window.
 
I've got all four of those sources selected, yet there's no scorpion whip. Filtering by scorpion shows nothing, filtering by whip only give whip, stinging whip, training whip, cat o nine tails, and sling glove.

New Question: Is there an area to type planning-type notes for a character? I don't want to use the Background Details area to make levelling & feat plan notes but would like to keep such things in the portfolio file rather than having to keep separate notes elsewhere.

You have the filter set to "Everything" not just what your proficient with? Cause the whip displays just fine for me.

Journal tab is what your looking for which is also where you can add session notes, track XP, and add/subtract gold.

Yeah. I checked with a different character, and then with a brand new one as well.

Okay, I see now where to make notes on that tab; I didn't see a text box on it and hadn't tried clicking buttons.
