Tumor Familiar

Hey all,

New user for HL, great program!

Was sitting down to rules-monger a character that I don't even intend to play and found a couple issues that I'm not sure I'm reading correctly and wanted to ask about here.

1) I did a lot of looking around and as much as I want to take improved familiar for my Tumor Familiar, the Tumor Familiar feat seems like it should not meet the prerequisite requirements for Improved Familiar according to this.
Second, tumor familiars, as lumps of flesh in the shape of animals, can’t become Improved Familiars.
But it's not greyed out on an alchemist with Tumor Familiar ability. Is this WAI?

2) On the other hand, the Improved spell sharing feat seems like it should indeed work on a standard Tumor Familiar. And according to this
An alchemist's extracts and mutagens are considered spells for the purposes of familiar abilities like share spells and deliver touch spells.
the familiar should even be able to share the alchemist's mutagen!

It was easy to add Extracts (spells) under the Adjust tab with spell adjustments. But for some reason, even after taking the Spell Sharing feat, I can't get my Alchemist's Mutagen to show up in the In-Play tab under activated abilities for the Tumor Familiar (the way it does on the Alchemist himself).

The only workaround I could find was making the Tumor Familiar take a couple levels of Alchemist in the Classes tab under Classes and Templates (which adds unwanted automatic feats, spells, and skill points).

Am I missing something here. Is there an easier workaround?

Thanks,

-Joe
