Transgaming's Cider or similar

I was wondering if there are any plans to use Transgaming's Cider or a similar app to release Hero Lab in a way that mac users can run it without such a high cost?

It just really sucks to have to buy a Hero Lab license, then buy a VMware or Parallels license, then buy a windows license. That is quite an investment just to use hero lab.

Wow, not sure where to begin here. First off the operating system you use is your choice, so if it sucks because you cant get software to run on it, you might want to think about changing your OS. The high cost for all the add ons is again your choice, you really shouldnt blame HL for your choices.

That is a tad harsh Chiefweasel. Just because somebody doesn't have a Windows machine there's no need to slap them down.

Okay Hero Lab isn't available on the Mac OS yet, but it's also not available on Linux too. Unless you run Wine which is free.

However depending on what Language the program is written in depends on whether a port of the source code would be viable or profitable.

Heres a link to a thread regarding the iPhone http://forums.wolflair.com/showpost.php?p=38452&postcount=4

I know its about a Smartphone but it answers a platform specific answer in the second paragraph.

Sorry, wasnt being harsh for them using a Mac, was being harsh for them directing their dis-satifaction with the amount of Mac software at LW.

I think the answer to your question is that we are currently working on a port of Hero Lab to the Mac. This will be a native Mac application, so no virtual machines or Windows will be required. We're working to have it into Beta testing sometime in 1Q2011. You'll find more details about it in multiple other posts here on the forums.
