Toxic Guardian Selection

When I add the Toxic Guardian Edge, it adds an ally to my portfolio, however when I go to my ally details, it says I must select the creature type, but none of the Toxic Spirit types are an option in the drop down.

Am I missing something?

I found that I needed to go into "Configure Character" for the Toxic Guardian and check the Deadlands sources. Is there any way to make it so those are automatically selected since that's the only time you be using Toxic Guardian (and also the "Parent character" obviously has those already checked). It wasn't very apparent that I needed to do that.
