The 3.5 GameMastery Classic Modules Conversion Project

The 3.5 GameMastery Classic Modules Conversion Project

Chronicles: Pathfinder Podcast needs your help!

In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Paizo -- and more particularly -- in support of the Paizo 10th Anniversary Sale and the AWESOME DEALS on virtually all of the entire 3.5 GameMastery module line, Chronicles: PFPC is preparing a consolidated conversion PDF for listeners and the larger Pathfinder community that aims to provide a one-stop shopping experience for using the classic GameMastery module line with Pathfinder RPG.

The project goal is simple: we will provide a complete and faithful conversion of all statblocks of every encounter presented in every single one of the 3.5 GameMastery modules in Pathfinder RPG format in one single, attractive PDF that will be provided as a FREE download to any member of the Pathfinder community who wants it. In addition, we will also, where appropriate, present variant NPCs/monsters statblocks using the expanded Pathfinder Rules in the APG, ARG, Bestiaries 2 and 3, Ult. Magic and Ult. Combat, too.
It's a somewhat daunting task for a team of 2 (or 4) people, but it is a comparatively EASY task for a team of a dozen or -- better yet -- twenty Pathfinder fans to take on. We need your help!

In order to participate in the project, you need to:

Send us an e-mail at the bottom of this message with the information fields filled out

You may provide us with a list of what modules you own or are prepared to assist in converting. If you do not provide this information to us, we will simply assign you a module to convert.

In order to participate in the project, you MUST own a copy of Herolab together with Bestiary 1 for Herolab. If you have further expansions for Herolab, so much the better, but you must have the Base program and Bestiary 1 to assist with the conversion project.

Nature of the Gig

When the project team has been assembled, you will receive your module assignment(s). If you do not have the module in question at the time of the assignment, you will need to go purchase a copy of it (we recommend you get ALL of the print modules on sale from now until August 13, 2012 for $57 as it is an AWESOME deal so you'll be covered no matter what. Providing a central conversion document for the entire product line is the POINT of this project, after all.)

It is expected that each project participant will have only one or two modules to convert. Your task will be to go through the module and create the appropriate Pathfinder stat block for the monster or NPC in Herolab and save the portfolio in accordance with a standard generic file name structure we will send out to participants. (Nothing fancy, it will be something like GM_6_01_NPCNAME.por, GM_6_02_NPCNAME.por, GM_6_03_NPCNAME.por -- where the "6" corresponds to the module in the list and the 01, 02 and 03 filename corresponds to the first, second and third stat block appearances in the module, etc. Name is what you think it is.)

When your conversion is complete, you will then just .rar or .zip up all the portrait files you have created and mail them to us. That's it, you are done.

We will check the stat blocks over for errors, then layout the PDF using In Design and get it out there for download. It will look slick, cool and attractive and should open up a whole series of excellent Golarion modules for the entire community to use. These modules are too good to let them languish in 3.5 land!

Every participant will, of course, receive a credit in the product masthead and get their copy of the conversion document before the general public. We are working on another sweetener, but I would prefer to make sure on those details before we commit to it. Suffice to say it will be COOL and unique.

We expect that the conversion of a given module will take between two and four hours of work in total by a participant (some people work faster than others). In any event, we anticipate most people will be able to complete their assignment in one afternoon or evening. In some cases, it might take 2 evenings -- MAX.
