Templates

In several of the M&M sources there are templates. For example, in Warriors and Warlocks and Mecha and Manga there are different racial templates. I can locate no options for using templates with the Hero Labs software. While on the subject, I can locate no options for saving default Campaign Setting information.

That said, the only way to handle it that I can see at the current time is through the saving of a Porfolio. For example, if I want to have all of the characters of a given campaign use certain settings (for example, 20 pp per PL instead of 15), I would save the file as its own portfolio, and then make characters after loading it. Should a given campaign have, for example, an Elf, then I would have a portfolio that already has the campaign settings and then has the Elf settings slapped on afterwards, and then saved.

I like to run different campaign settings within the M&M game. Having a menu of said settings would be useful, but I guess I can just have the portfolio for each setting. No big deal. But for races I find that players like to switch between templates, and then there is the fun of making a character a vampire (for example), or maybe a zombie in a zombie-apocalypse game (hehehe). Sure, I can add it all manually, but it would be really great if I could just click on a template and have the computer do the work for me (enter it once, and use a bazillion times in the future).

Right now, all you can do is save the template as a portfolio. Hero Lab currently can't handle templates very well; we have some new functionality planned for the future that will address that, though. At that point, we'll add templates to the data files.
