Template idea from the Pathfinder Goblins comics

I recently re-read the Goblins mini series of comics and one of the stories had me thinking about templates. In said comic some goblins get a hold of a item that happens to be a Lich's Crystal eye, when placed in an eye socket, it grants said goblins a form of Undeath, I assume akin to the cursed sailors from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Now before I start work on making a template/item that does something like this I was curious if it has already been done. I have not read through every book yet, but don't recall seeing anything like that in the ones I have read through.

Any pointers for such a Template would also be appreciated. Thanks

Well the info I have gathered on the Template would be as follows:

Magic Item induced Undeath. Most likely a curse of undeath.
Ability to survive with severed limbs (head of one goblin was severed in the comic)
Goblins felt Empowered somehow, though it was vague on exactly how.
Goblins survived when the item (Gem Eye) was removed from them, usually by violence from another goblin.
In the end teh Goblins were vaporized by the Lich. So no immunity to magic/fire.

Perhaps a Sub-lich template. No real powers, but undeath and some ability to bypass severe damage to body.
