Syntax error in validation error - help?

Good afternoon

After upgrading, most of the dat files I'm loading for games have some sort of syntax error in validation. Are all the files going to have to be rewritten for 3.2?

V3.2 should provide full backwards compatibility with V3.1 data files when it is *not* compiling them in "strict" mode. We verified this on all the published data files that we're aware of. The data files should simply compile and load into AB. However, if you turn on the data file authoring capabilities and try to specifically *compile* the data files, you will get lots of errors with many of the game systems. This is because V3.2 is doing much better error checking of data files during compilation, so errors that slipped through in V3.1 are not being caught and reported. If you want to make changes to the data files for a game system and then use the improved authoring tools to test them, those errors will need to be fixed. All of the data file authors that we knew of were invited to participate in the Beta, and everyone who participated is well aware of this detail. My understanding is that the various authors are cleaning up their files so that the next update to those files should include the corrections. In the meantime, you can simply load the data files into AB and there should be no errors.
