Summoner - Synthesist needs completion..

Greetings,

First of all thanks for a wonderful program. Even if costs quite it bit I would say it's the best one out there.

I have had a couple of players that wanted to play the Summoner and the Synthesist archetype. However the Fused Eidolon isn't working yet just as the description says.

However from what I can see it shouldn't be that much of work to get it fixed and ready.

Here are the things I have found:

# Bond Senses should be (Replaced) when you select the Synthesist Archetype. Currently it is still available.

# Same for Life Bond (should be marked as Replaced) when you select the Synthesist Archetype. Currently it is still available.

----------------------------------------------------------

When you click the "In-Play" activated ability "Fused Eidolon" then the following needs to happen:

# The Eidolons STR, DEX and CON score should replace the casters STR,DEX and CON. So basically if you have 14 STR 14 DEX 14 CON on the eidolon and 10 STR 10 DEX 10 CON 14 INT 14 WIS 14 CHA on your caster then the "new" caster stats will be 14 STR 14 DEX 14 CON 14 INT 14 WIS and 14 CHA.

# The synthesist uses the eidolon’s base attack bonus (BAB)

# The synthesist gains the eidolon’s hit points as temporary hit points. When these hit points reach 0, the eidolon is killed and sent back to its home plane.

# The synthesist uses the eidolon’s base attack bonus, and gains the eidolon’s armor and natural armor bonuses and modifiers to ability scores

# The synthesist also gains access to the eidolon’s special abilities and the eidolon’s evolutions. The synthesist is still limited to the eidolon’s maximum number of natural attacks.

# While fused, the synthesist loses the benefits of his armor. He counts as both his original type and as an outsider for any effect related to type, whichever is worse for the synthesist

# While fused with his eidolon, the synthesist can use all of his own abilities and gear, except for his armor. In all other cases, this ability functions as the summoner’s normal eidolon ability (for example, the synthesist cannot use his summon monster ability while the eidolon is present). ** My comments - Remove the Summon XX Monster per day special ability while the summoner is fused with his eidolon. **

If the above things are fixed then we can actually generate a character sheet that will show how the caster will work when he is fused with the eidolon. This would be sooooo great and would help me out alot when it comes to my players.

------------------------------------------------------

One more minor thing... at lvl 10 you get the Aspect ability which gives you the optional choice to take 2 of the eidolons evolution points and add those evolutions to yourself. This is working when you are lvl 10 as expected. However if you are adding 20 lvls directly then he "forgets" the first 2 points which is traded at a 1:1 ration and instead only show the greated aspect which gives you 6 points and those are working so that if you spend 6 points to give yourself some evolutions then only 3 points are taken from the eidolon. The point costs work just as intended, the only thing not working is that the first 2 points get forgotten unless you lvl and spend points one lvl at time.

Thanks again for a lovely program and I am looking forward to have this fixed :)

Sincerely!

/Mikael

Sorry i try to keep this from becoming a habit but when i read "Once more minor thing" in my head i read "One more thing" in uncles( https://dl.dropbox.com/u/34875886/1308377512039.jpg )voive[/url] form jackie Chan Adventures.

I would also like to thank hero lab for this program, it has helped me make charters as a new player and started me on the pathfinder universe. I cant w8 to see more of what they do, maybe something like a summoned monster list(endless they have that already which i have not seen if so).

In fact we do have a summoned monster list. You can import the standard versions of the monsters into your portfolio, view its stats for as long as you need, and then delete it when you're done. To import them, hit Portfolio -> Import Stock Hero -> Summon Monster 1-4 or Summon Monster 5-9 -> Choose the monster. We also have other monsters from the various bestiaries if you own those packages (they are mostly in the Miscellaneous Monsters files).

As for Synthesist, it is on our radar, but there are coding issues that make it a bit more complicated than you'd think.

Lol I just noticed... spelling error indeed. Although english is not my native language it should not have slipped past ;)

Will correct it.

Also thanks for the headsup regarding this. I think the synthesist seems to have been a quite popular option among my players so I am really really looking forward to see this fixed.

I don't seem to have the Summon Monster options available. Is there something I need to set up first?

That's weird, it looks like the stock files for the Summon Monsters are available in my testing environment, but not in the generally released files.

Thanks for alerting me to this blzbob, I'll look into it and get things sorted out.

Hi,

since Summon Monster is an often used spell for me I would like the above feature a lot.
So, any news on this? Is it an error or maybe only available if you also own the bestiary packs?

I would like it if this worked as well.

What's currently available for summoned monsters is to use the existing stock monster portfolios. From the portfolio menu at the top, choose "Import Stock Hero", and then choose the portfolio you want to draw monsters from - for example, Miscellaneous Monsters (E-H) for an eagle, or the Elementals file for a fire elemental.

If this creature is one of those that is summoned with an alignment template, go to the Classes tab for that creature, and click the grey "Click here to add class levels or hit dice" text. Scroll down in that list until you come to the templates and choose Celestial, Infernal, Axiomatic or Entropic.

If you have the augment summoning feat, you can go over to the Adjust tab, to the Conferred Abilities table, and add the "Feat: Augment Summoning" option.

Note that most of the monsters will have a bare minimum of sources checked - you may need to go to the configure hero form (ctrl-k), click on the right-hand side, and choose "Use Defaults", then "OK". If it's a monster from B1, for example, you may need to do that in order to see the Axiomatic and Entropic templates that are from B2.

You may want to save this monster in a new portfolio (portfolio...export hero to new portfolio) (and later on, add some of this character's other favorite summoned monsters to that same portfolio), so that you have quick access to them through the Import Hero From Portfolio option.
