Summon Monster Package

How does the summon monster package work? I purchased it to get quick access to stat blocks for my summonable monsters during play, but I can't find anywhere in either my ipad or desktop version of the app that allows me to do so.

The Summon Monster Creatures package is an Encounter Library. In Windows you get to it through the Gamemaster menu (not intuitive, I know). I'm not sure how/if that works on the iPad.

If it doesn't turn out to be directly accessible on the iPad, it occurs to me that you could use the Mac/Windows version to build a portfolio of your usual Summons and put that on your iPad (or Dropbox) and import from that.

That would be the only way on the iPad actually.

That's basically what I've done - I added all the options for SMII to my relic hunter's portfolio. I'm not sure how well it's going to run with all those extra characters loaded though - I've noticed that the desktop version gets really laggy with more than four or five characters in one portfolio.

Can you keep the Summons in a separate Portfolio and just add and delete them as you need them?

(Sorry, I've never used or even seen Hero Lab's iPad version.)

I'm not sure if the iPad can import characters from one portfolio to another. Worth checking out I suppose.

This is certainly winding up as more prep work than I'd hoped for.

Having the tablet interface available along with all the capability of the desktop version on a Windows 10 tablet/hybrid would be glorious.

I much prefer the desktop interface. Others experiences may vary, but in a group of 7; 3 Ipad, and 4 windows users of HL, the 3 of the 4 windows users were the fastest with HL, and 2 of the 3 Ipad users were always slowing the group down on turns.

It is mostly personal preference, but the windows desktop interface is fast, intuitive and once you play with it a little? I was simply able to run circles around our Ipad users for any and every function.

If they did implement a tablet UI on windows, lets not discard the desktop UI we have now.

I doubt that Lone Wolf would ever abandon the desktop interface; it's really essential for GMing. I'd just like to try it out for the games where I'm a player.

Summon Monster package

Hey anyone figure out how to use Summon Monster Package. The gamemasters encounter build is not it, and if it is then this needs to be restructured. I expected a book or list of monsters on of sides and levels to help in summoning. Not sure whats going on or what to do.. If anyone has any actual information it would help out greatly.
Thanks

Azazel, the Encounter Library for the Summon Monster Package is arranged by the source of the summoning, so you do see what is legitimate for the method the character's using. The reason the package exists is so players whose characters do Summoning have a less expensive way to add the summoned creatures into their portfolio than having to buy a bunch of Bestiaries; it isn't intended to be a Guide to Summoning.
