Has anyone considered releasing army builder or any of your other software for smartphones? I would kill to see army builder on android.

It's something that is being asked for more often now, so we're investigating during our work on V3.2.

The big problem is that there are lots of different smartphones and they have wildly different programming requirements. Whatever we do will need to have a sufficient ROI (i.e. units sold) to justify the resource investment in developing it. That's part of what we're assessing - beyond just the technical details.

My guess is that, whatever we do, it will start on one platform and then expand to others. Which platform to start with, though, is a big question mark at this time.

How about Palm OS. Palm PDA's mostly runon Palm OS. Don't most smartphones run on a Windows OS of some sort?

Let's see. For smartphone OS's I know of:

1) Mac OS for Iphone/Itouch.
2) Windows Mobile
3) Symbian
4) Android
5) Palm (though not nearly as popular as it used to be, Palm.com only lists one model with this OS)
6) Blackberry OS (not sure what they are running).

And I'm sure there is more. Hence the problem. Windows Mobile might be a good start since that is the most likely be the smallest amount of conversion, but then Mac OS might be better since they have the best distribution system.
