Story vs World Almanac

Hi

I'm new to RealmWorks, just got my hands on it today, and trying to figure it out.

One thing I can't seem to really wrap my mind around yet is the difference between the Story and World Almanacs. Because to me they're looking fairly identical.

How do I decide if something, a place or a person for example, is meant for the Story or the World Almanac?

The general idea is if it is important currently in the game then it goes to Story. But if the players have already finished with that section of the story or its an area (city, town) the players have yet to visit its in the World.

So its just meant to help "focus" or streamline the amount of information you see. So I run paizo AP so the current "chapter" the players are in is in "Story" and everything else is moved to "World".

But feel free to use it in whatever method you think is best. RW is very flexible and no wrong way to use it.

They are identical, and it is your choice how to use them.

LWD's concept for the Almanacs is to use the Story Almanac for things that are currently involved in your story and to use the World Almanac for background information and things otherwise not currently "in focus". (You can see this in the FAQ: What’s the point of having both a World Almanac and a Story Almanac?.)

In the future, they may change the Almanac concept so that one Almanac always contains everything and one or more other Almanacs can be used to focus on things important to you and your story.

I personally only use the World Almanac, as then everything is in one place.

Hope this helps.

Oh that does indeed help! Thank you and now it actually makes sense.

I didn't even realise until you mentioned it that I can move stuff from Story to World and vica versa.
