Starting at Level 0

Is there any way to have a PC start out at level 0, and then go to level 1? Basically, our GM started the campaign at level 0 with -1500 xp. We each took a level in an NPC class, and then decided on what PC class to take when we made "level 1". Is there any way to simulate this in Hero Lab?

Can you just delete the NPC class and repalce it with the PC class?

Otherwise, you'll need to tell me more about the mechanics of how exactly your house rule works.

Basically, I'm looking for a way to add level 0 to the level lists (or just add a level of an NPC class without it actually taking up a level slot), either with no XP, or by starting the character out at -1500 xp (or negative anything, vs the standard starting out at 0 xp). From what I know about the program, I don't think it'd be possible, because it would require editing at the base program level since levels are an integral part of any RPG, but I was curious to see if anyone had any ideas on how it might even be possible.

No, everything in the program checks how many levels you have before looking things up on the various arrays that determine level-based progressions, and they generally quit if you haven't added levels yet.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I appreciate the response, though! Still love the program, and I'm looking forward to all of those new downloads...
