Stacks of Masterwork Weapons

I am trying to keep track of party loot through Hero Lab. I am trying to add a stack of masterwork hand crossbows, to represent the items we are picking up along the way. I have created a stack of masterwork hand crossbows in the weapons tab, and am trying to add to it. I would imagine I would "merge to existing stack" , but when I do so, it adds the item as a single item. I can't seem to add it on to the existing stack.

Furthermore, trying to create a single stack of...say 10 masterwork hand crossbows, is not always working .

As a work-around, delete the current stack and create a new one, but increase the number. It might be a bug that you can't add custom items to an existing stack.

That's what I have been doing Sendric. I think the reason is because it actually creates the stack before you decide what the base item is.

Yea, I would concur. It's no problem for regular weapons, but the custom items can't be stacked as HL currently handles it as far as I can tell.

Once the two weapons are identical, you can click the bag icon and choose "stack with next below"/"stack with next above", but they have to be identical before that can happen.

If it's just a collection of stuff, and isn't likely to get used outside of the stack, just custom gear it, and it will stack. The only real reason to make it actual weapon gear is if it will see use, in which case, it doesn't need to be in a stack.

Mathias - did not know you could stack with below, stack with above.

Kendall-DM - Very True, as I am doing this just to keep track of loot, there really is no reason
