Stacking Paladin's & Cavalier's Mount

Hello everyone and sorry for my english and sorry also if this threads already exists.

I own HL with latest updates and every single package available for Pathfinder until now.

I'm currently running a customized version of Kingmaker as a DM with 6 PCs, 2-3 times a month. I'm up to finish first chapter in 2 or 3 sessions I guess. I'm using HL from the start, for PCs, NPCs and monsters as well - it saves a lot of time, so thx again for this wonderful software.

My Pc-group includes:
- A half-orc barbarian (wild rager)
- A gnome alchemist
- A she-tiefling wizard (diviner)
- A she-half-elf oracle (stargazer - Desna)
- A halfling rogue (scout/knife master)
- A varisian paladin (shiny knight - Iomedae)

This last PC told me lately he would want to multiclass with some Cavalier levels, but only if his Paladin's mount would stack with Cavalier's mount (and not have 2 different steeds which would be silly). I agree on this but I really don't know what do i have to do in the editor to make this change effective, so I would need some help on this.

Pls no post on "it's a bad idea", "i have a better built" and so on, I'm sure there are better built but we just want to play with a Paladin/Cavalier with a combined steed.

Thx for your answer and your help

You shouldn't have to do anything in the editor. Classes that have access to the same type of companion should stack them automatically, is this not happening for you?

It does actually stacks so it's great!

I firstly thought Druid, Ranger, Cavalier & Paladin companion are completely different in HL. It was a mistake from me.

Perfect for a first step, but then I have a second question: what would I have to do to make some other creatures available as a companion (I'm thinking about Griffons, Pegasus, Dire Lions... I know the two first are magical beasts and are more intelligent than animals, but it doesn't matter - Griffons are available as a mount in Ultimate Equipement so why not as a companion?) but depending on the rider's level? In 3.5, a 7-lvl paladin had access to a Pegasus as a steed. I really would love to adapt this feature for Pathfinder.

Thx again.

Have you looked at the Sable Company Marine archetype for Rangers - that archetype gives rangers a hippogriff companion.

(It was in one of the Paizo Blog articles, so all Hero Lab users have it).

The integrated editor is available from the Tools menu...Launch Editor. The "Race, Anim Comp" tab there is where new animal companion races can be created.

If this is your first go into the editor my advice is to read the "Glossary of Terms" in the FAQ. That can help make the terminology make more sense.

Also check out Question #2 of the FAQ for the Editor as it goes over resources to use to Learn the editor. Including a four part video. :)
