SR4 Editor Issue

Hello, fellow SR4 users!

I'm attempting to put some of the changes from Shadowrun 2050 in the editor, and I've run into a bit of a snag.

I attempted to replace items with their 2050 counterpart using the New(Copy) option and putting the original id into the "Replaces Things ID" field. I also set it up with Shadowrun 2050 as a new source, so I could toggle it on or off.

Here's the problem: As long as the .user file is in the data directory, the original items disappear totally, regardless of the source being ticked on or off in the Hero Configure window. However, the altered items appear and disappear as expected when the same box is checked.

Any ideas? I've attached the file in question.

Thanks!

In the editor, use the preclude tab to make the items you want to be hidden when you turn on your Shadowrun 2050 user file and not the original id into the "Replaces Things ID" field. That field makes the item totally replace in the game no matter if the user file is checked or not. I learned that the hard way. Hope this helps you.

An alternative is the "Duplicate Game System" option in the tools menu - each copy has its own .user files, so that you're making your replacements and changes to only one of them.
