I doubt it, but I'm not a LW developer. 
The reason I doubt it is (a) they don't have the resources to rewrite the GUI for the iPad, and they are writing it in ObjC so it's a fair amount of work, (b) it's not a high priority to add an enhancement to something that mostly works when they can be adding other features/tools that are more important, and (c) since the app only runs in portrait mode displaying a mini version in the side bar would make it too tiny to read/interact with (IMO).
