Spellbook for a sorcerer

I am creating a sorcerer with a Ring of Spell Knowledge I which allows her to store a spell from a written source as an extra spell known.
For the written source I would like her to have a spellbook with a selection of spells. She would have to pay a wizard to write the spell into the book.

So I gave her a travelling spellbook and then tried to add spells.
Hero Lab won't let me select an associated class.
I can select spells, but can't restrict the selection to only wizard ones.

Then there is the matter of how much it costs. Paying someone to write it is not listed as an option, but I doubt the rules cover that case.

The selector is for which class present on the hero will be able to memorize from the spellbook. If you don't have any valid classes, leave it unselected.

As for the cost, I would say check the box for a custom price, and enter in whatever your DM tells you is appropriate, since that service isn't one covered by the rules.

Since spellbooks can be used by characters who don't have classes that memorize from them, restricting the classes to those present doesn't seem quite right.
It is only a minor issue though.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. How do non-memorizing characters make use of spellbooks, other than to sell them?

The only use I can think of immediately is that they can make use of the preparation rituals (and note that Divine Anthology adds "Prayer Books" for this purpose for Divine casters).

Mnenomic Vestment and Ring of Spell Knowledge both let spontaneous casters cast spells from "written sources" such as spellbooks.

charliejuice, PJackson, the items mentioned do not fit the situation.

The Mnemonic Vestment allows the caster to, 1/day, use a spontaneous spell slot to cast a spell that might be in a spellbook or on a scroll. The Ring of Spell Knowledge allows the ring to hold a single spell for the caster to use... but once the Ring has "learned" a spell, the spellbook or other source it was learned from is no longer needed (as I read it).

Neither of these allow a spontaneous caster to prepare (memorize is an obsolete term, really) a spell from the spellbook. The vestment seems like very much a "one-off" type of use, while the ring could be used with an adjustment for "spells known" to add one of the appropriate level (and then assign that to the spell in the ring).

Or am I missing something?

As for how to create the spellbook, have you tried to create the spellbook on a dummy Wizard character, then move it (give it) to the Sorcerer?

1/day is not one off and whilst the vestment soes not allow you to prepare a spell it does allow you to cast one. A spellbook is the chespest way to have a large selection of spells to chose from.

Whilst there has been some argument over how a ring of spell knowledge works the concensus seems to be that you can replace the spell (overwise it is very overpriced compared to a page of spell knowledge). Having a spell book is a convenient way to have a collection of spells to chose from between encounters.
