Sorting Tags

At the moment, tags are sorted alphabetically.

Most of the time this is fine, but occasionally it would be nice to sort them how I want, ie, Community Size from smallest to largest.

I've got a series of tags that are Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4... , Level 10 etc.

But they sort, Level 1, Level 10, Level 2, Level 3... bit annoying.

That is because they are sorting alphabetically. Try cheating by changing your single digit numbers to 01, 02, etc. Then they should sort properly.

...and there's the rub!

If we can order/reorder the tags, there won't be an issue.

I've just created a new Tag Domain, RAF Ranks, and to keep them in rank order, I put numbers at the front of the tag.

Tag Name >>> Abbreviation
01 Leading Aircraftman >>> LAC
02 Senior Aircraftman >>> SAC
03 Senior Aircraftman (Technician) >>> SAC Tech

...

21 Air Marshal >>> Air Mshl
22 Air Chief Marshal >>> Air Chf Mshl
23 Marshal of the Royal Air Force >>> MRAF


It's not the most elegant of solutions, but it will work, and when (if) sorting of tags is available, the numbers can be deleted.

Actually, that has given me an idea for a solution, another field for tags, sort order.


Tag Name >>> Abbreviation >>> Sort Order
Leading Aircraftman >>> LAC >>> 1
Senior Aircraftman >>> SAC >>> 2
Senior Aircraftman (Technician) >>> SAC Tech >>> 3

...

Air Marshal >>> Air Mshl >>> 21

2. Tools button, "Turn on Explicit Ordering"
3. Drag and drop to re-order your tags
