Sorry, another new guy question

I'm trying to recreate a 4th level PFS character in my spiffy new copy of Hero Lab (and have already discovered I'd shorted myself a couple of skill points and made an error on hit points in my paper version), and for the life of me I can't figure out how to add his equipment.

Specifically, in the Weapons tab, I want to add his masterwork greatsword. But that doesn't seem to be among the 147 legal weapons listed when I click on "add magic/masterwork weapon."

Same situation with his armor. He wears +1 darkleaf cloth lamellar leather, but I can't find anything close to that in the options.

Have I not toggled a switch somewhere, do you think?
 
Go to weapons tab and open it look to the top of the page, where it says new magic, custom or master work weapons, click that to open in window. At the top of said window, click on the custom / Magic weapon tab - that should of open a window that lets you make custom weapons - have fun. do the same in the armor tab.

Thanks JBear, that seems to be working and what I was missing.

Hmmm. Wonder why darkleaf cloth lamellar leather armor is showing up as not legal...
 
If you want and your DM allows it to be used for lamellar leather armor. I have made a file that allows you to pick Darkleaf for the armor if you would like it. PM me your email and I will send it to you so you can put it on your armor. Just let me know.

Well, I swapped out my illegal armor for a +1 mithral chain shirt which will have to do for now. But I find I have two more questions.

This first one is embarrassing because I'm sure this is one of those "if it had been a snake it would have bit me" situations. But here goes.

I printed out the standard character sheet of my hero and... I can't find his hit points. Seriously! I swear I've read the three page print out three times and just don't see them listed or a place to track them. I apologize in advance for that one.

The other question has to do with CMD. On my "by hand" sheet I come up with a score of 18. And the values listed on the Hero Lab sheet (printed and in the hero portfolio) for BAB, Strength, Dexterity and Misc do add up to 18 (with the default value of 10 considered). Specifically it reads, left to right on the print out, 10 -> +3 (BAB) -> +3 (Str) -> +2 (Dex). So, 18, right? But the total listed is 20! Can't figure out where it's getting that extra two from to save my life!

HP are located just to the right of your Base Attack and left of Special Abilities. Basically, lower part of the first page, just left of center.

Its hard to determine the problem here without more info, but make sure to check out any Race traits, alternate traits, feats, class specials, items, etc. If you can't find anything, post more info about your character so we can try to reproduce it.
 
HP! Right where you said they are! Consider me snake-bit!

I'll look through any possible traits and so on that might add to CMD and get back to you.

Well, I've looked through everything I know to look through and don't see any class features, feats, traits, or items that might explain it.

Enhancement bonuses and masterwork features on armor don't figure into CMD, do they?

How detailed a description do you need?

He's a Bard (Archivist) 2/Ranger (Guide 2).

Str 16, Dex 15.

BAB 3.

Feats: Dodge, Power Attack, Shield of Swings.

Traits: Devotee of the Green, Vagabond Child.

Equipped with a masterwork greatsword and +1 mithril chain shirt.
 
Ok, you are getting a +1 from the Dodge feat. It doesn't say it in the feat, but under the description for CMD, you can add any dodge bonus to AC to your CMD.

As for where the other +1 could come from, here is what the description says:

A creature can also add any circumstance, deflection, dodge, insight, luck, morale, profane, and sacred bonuses to AC to its CMD.

Check your AC bonuses to see if any of those other possibilities apply. Another possibility is size bonus; if your character is large you get a +1.

Incidentally, I looked all this up here. I didn't know this prior, but now I do. Yay for learning new things. :)
