not sure why but i know it isnt right. if you give a noise marine champion a doom siren it locks out the ability to give him a plasma pistol. no where in the book does this seem invalid. i have checked the errata just to be sure. just seems like a bug. it does it the other way as well. if you equip a plasma pistol it wont allow a doom siren either. I'm sure it is just a minor glitch somewhere. just wanted to let it be known.
