skillslot

I recently came across a skillchip from the technology guide on a PFS chronicle, which opened up a skillslot for purchase from the technology guide. I can't find where to add the skillslot in herolab, however. I'm able to add the skillchip (with an error message that it isn't PFS legal, but it doesn't give me a boost to the skill it's associated with. I can only imagine this is because it's not in a skill slot?

You add the Skillslot under the Magic tab, and add the Skillchip under the Gear tab (then add it to the Skillslot container) and once both are activated you should see the skill boost.

Oh, and in case you didn't know, one of Shadow's Adjustments will remove the PFS error for a piece of equipment.

After running Iron Gods for a while I think I've finally figured out that for the most part if a Technological Item uses a slot it's classified as Magic but if it doesn't it's classified as Gear. Of course, that's if it isn't considered Weapons or Armor (mind you, Grenades are listed under Gear and not Weapons, so if you can't find something, look everywhere).

Yeah I hope those are working right. The skill chip should go into the skillslot which is a container. You have no idea how long it took me to get those things working right back when I did the Tech Guide.
