Shadowfist data file comments. questions, corrections

Before I start entering data for my L5R sets, I wanted to get all my
Shadowfist cards entered. I noticed the following things:

1) Flashpoint Info cards are included in Card Vault (strangely,
they're listed as Character type cards, Info cards should have their
OWN category) but Shaolin Sanctuary Info cards (there are two of
them) are NOT included.

2) "I Ching", an unaligned Edge card is included in the Limited
Edition lists but not Standard Edition lists. This card IS in
Standard Edition. (I have one.)

3) "Molten Heart", a Four Monarchs Edge card, is listed as a Jammers
faction card (and is found under that faction in Card Vault). It is a
Four Monarchs faction card.

4) There is a card set called "Netherworld" and one
called "Netherworld 2". This causes a problem on the Inventory
screens since the Edition field is not wide enough to display the
full title of the set and users don't currently have any ability to
change the Inventory displays to widen the field. I had to constantly
filter on/filter off to figure out which set was which on the
inventory screen. Since Netherworld 2 reprinted some Netherworld
cards, this happened too often for my tastes.

5) Shadowfist uses a combination of "Most Recently Printed" and "Play
as Printed" for those cards with the same titles for which multiple
editions occur. Card Vault gets around the "Play as Printed" cards by
putting a (1), (2), (3), etc. in the card name so they don't collapse
on each other when the Merge functionality is turned on. This is
good, I like it this way. However, there are currently 2 problems I
see.

5a) Certain characters appear in cross factions (Rhys Engel as
Architects/Purist, Thing with 10,000 Tongues as Lotus/Architects,
Jason X as Dragon/Architect). As none of these multiple versions have
the little MRP symbol on it, all of these characters should ALSO have
the (1) (2) (3) etc on them so they don't collapse on each other with
Merge on. (i.e. There should be a Jason X (1) and a Jason X (2), a
Rhys Engel (1) and a Rhys Engel (2) etc.)

5b) Cards that are reprinted in Limited and Standard are identical
and should share numbers, same with some other reprints. For
instance, there is Alchemist's Lair (1), (2), (3), and (4), one for
Limited, Standard, Flashpoint and Dark Future sets. But there should
only really be Alchemist's Lair (1) (covering Limited and Standard)
and Alchemist's Lair (2) (covering Flashpoint and Dark Future).

OK, I'll switch them to being 'info' cards. Could you provide names and any
other relevant details of the two Shaolin Sanctuary info cards? (Please
send it to colen@wolflair.com, so as not to clutter up the list.)

It's not in the data we have... are you certain it's a Standard edition
one? If so, I'll add it to the files.

OK, I'll fix that.

And I'll see what I can do about this.

The data we have specifies in it whether a card should be 'play as printed'
or whether it obeys standard MRP rules; for Rhys, there's no indication
that he should be 'play as printed'. I'll send off an email to the chap I
got the data from, and see what I can dig up.

ieks. OK, that sounds like it'd be a bit annoying to do. Are there always
'pairs' of editions for these play as printed cards? For example,
everything in standard/limited should have the same number... should all
play as printed cards that appear in flashpoint and dark future also have
the same number, or is the one occurance here an 'oddity'?

The (I have one.) comment above means I was holding it in my hands
when I went to enter in Card Vault and it wasn't there. I'm certain
it exists.

The default in Shadowfist is "play as printed". The MRP cards all
have little (2) s or (3)s or whatever on them to indicate they
supplant all earlier versions of these cards. None of those cards
(Jason, Rhys, Thing) have that. However they are all different
factions as well. To be sure I asked this question over in the
Shadowfist Yahoo! group.

answer came in message 12820 which supports that Rhys, Jason and
Thing are PAP sicne neither version has a little errata symbol on
them.

Pretty much it's ALL of them are that way. For instance ANY card that
was in both Standard and Limited have the exact same wording.
Alchemist's Lair is just an example because it's a card they admitted
was an error in Limited but didn't want to confuse people so they
reprinted the 'error' in Standard and didn't actually change to
the 'correct' version until Flashpoint came out. If you like, *I*'ll
do the legwork for you since I have almost all the cards involved.

When I send the Shaolin Showdown Info cards information, I'll send
you a complete list of Shadowfist cards that can be collapsed like
Alchemist's Lair and what versions are the same and which are not.
