• The Starfinder 2nd Edition Playtest content is now available for use in combination with the Pathfinder 2nd Edition game system. We've integrated the content from both games into a unified environment, where they can be used together or stand alone as you see fit. As always, you can make the best decision for each character individually.
• Both the PF2 and SF2 game systems are selectable from the HLO home screen. They each lead to the same repository of characters, spanning both game systems. However, the selected game system determines the defaults for both the visuals and character creation.
• Creating a character presents the option of which game system to use - Fantasy or Sci-Fi - and this choice establishes various defaults for the character. Fantasy characters behave similarly to PF2, using PF2 books as their base and gold, silver, and copper as their currency. Sci-Fi characters use SF2 books as their base, use credits as currency (equivalent to silver), and display the SF2 descriptions for content that appears in both systems (e.g., human and android ancestries).
• Regardless of whether PF2 or SF2 is chosen initially, any character can enable the "Allow Combined Setting Content" option, which allows access to the rules content from the other game system. When enabled, content is shown from all enabled books. Filtering options within selection tables can limit the shown content to either Fantasy of Sci-Fi.
• At the moment, only content from the SF2 Playtest is available for use, plus Galaxy Guide if purchased. Once SF2 Player Core is officially released, all current Playtest content will be converted to the SF2 Player Core equivalents and will thereafter operate in demo mode until the SF2 Player Core book has been purchased. Please Note: The conversion to SF2 Player Core MAY result in changes to existing characters, as options will be added, modified, and removed to match the officially released content.
• The separate Starfinder 2nd Edition Playtest game system will continue to exist for the time being. Characters cannot be automatically moved into the unified PF2/SF2 game system, but you can freely recreate the characters to experiment with the unified environment. Additionally, characters in the separate Playtest game system will NOT be converted when the game officially releases.
